Court grants Wazobia FM journalists bail
Journalist working with Wazobia FM radio station, Kano, Yakubu Musa and Mubarak Mohammed Sani, who were arrested for allegedly instigating the killing of polio vaccinators in Kano, were yesterday granted bail by the Gyadi-Gyadi Magistrate’s Court.
The duo first appeared before the court on Tuesday to answer charges of alleged criminal conspiracy, inciting disturbance, intentional insult, obstruction, defamation of character and injurious falsehood, contrary to Sections 97, 85, 114, 399, 148, 392 and 393 (1) of the Penal Code. They pleaded not guilty to the charges, after which their counsel led by Musa Aliyu, applied for bail.
Senior Magistrate Ibrahim Bello, in the ruling, granted the accused persons bail in the sum of N100,000 and 2 sureties each. He then adjourned the case to March 13, 2013.
