Police to assist Immigration with lie-detectors


The Inspector General of Police, Muhammad Abubakar, has said the police will assist the Nigeria Immigration Service with lie-detector machines that can verify the age and other bio-data of applicants during recruitment exercises.

The IGP made the comment yesterday when he received the acting Comptroller General, Nigeria Immigration Service at Police Headquarters, Abuja.

A statement, signed by the Immigration spokesman, Mr. Ekpedeme King stated that IGP welcomed the rebirth of the synergy between the Nigeria Police and the Nigeria Immigration Service, and promised to partner with the Immigration Service in training its men at the Force Mobile Training School in Gwoza. He said NIS operatives will be trained in the acts intelligence, interrogation and investigation at the Police Detective Corps School in Enugu.
