Jigawa Savings And Loans Limited’s Success Story
The Jigawa State Savings and Loans Plc is an agency that renders banking services to its teeming customers, and equally provides homes to civil servant through its various products.
The Savings and Loans Limited under its Managing Director, Babangida Umar Gantsa, a seasoned cum veteran banker, with assistance of his committed and hard-working staff, have recorded tremendous achievements within a very short period of time.
Credit must be given to Governor Sule Lamido for his support to the state’s savings and loans outfit by injecting enough fund to meet the CBN recapitalisation requirements.
The Jigawa State Savings and Loans Plc has four branches across the state. They are in Maigatari, Ringim, Dutse and Kazaure, while the coordinating office of the bank is in Dutse under its Managing Director. The branches perform banking services to numerous customers including civil servant, farmers, estate developers and other categories of customers with satisfaction.
The bank has four departments namely, Mortgage and real Estate, Legal Department, Banking Operation and Human Management, and Personnel Department.
In 2012, the bank recorded a great success in its annual profit across, for which it received accolades from the CBN, NDIC and other stakeholders in the finance sector.
The Jigawa State Savings and Loans PLC has played a significant role towards the provision of houses to the state’s workforce. This has no assisted greatly in the reduction of accommodation problem especially in Dutse, the state capital. The 774 housing units are directly under the Loans Board, which allocated them to members of staff in the state’s ministries and agencies through their contributions to Mortgage Bank.
The Managing Director, Gantsa, a versatile banker, has initiated various policies aimed at enhancing the services of the bank, which has created a conducive atmosphere for civil servants and other customers of the bank seeking professional advice.
Arrangement has been concluded by the bank to construct 570 housing units, with 20 houses in each of the 20 six local governments while 50 houses are to be built in Dutse to ease the accommodation problem faced by civil servants.
After the completion of the scheme, the houses would be distributed to willing civil servants. The measure would go a long way towards providing houses to the teeming work force in the state, which is a cardinal principle of the Lamido administration.
The Jigawa bank’s customers described their services as incomparable to other banks. This high rate of customers’ satisfaction might not be unconnected with client-friendly products and services available at the bank, especially the professional financial services the bank offers its customers.
Consequently, the number of customers dealing with the bank has tripled over a short period.
The efficient services rendered by the bank are dividends of the training and re-training scheme the management has institutionalised at the bank had made the staff capable, competent and dedicated in the discharge of their duties.
The bank is working closely with its supervising ministry - the Jigawa Ministry of Finance - to ensure proper implementation of the latter’s policies in line with its operational status.
Gantsa has also created a good working relationship between the bank and other financial institutions within and outside the state to enhance its services.
The importance of shelter and urbanisation cannot be over-emphasised. The Jigawa Savings and Loans is playing a crucial role, alongside major stakeholders, to provide affordable accommodation for the state’s civil service.
In conclusion, we congratulate the Jigawa Savings and Loans Limited under its indefatigable Managing Director Alhaji Babangida Umar Gantsa, for their tremendous achievements within a short period of time.
We equally congratulate His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Jigawa State, Dr. Sule Lamido (C.O.N) for the achievements recorded by the bank.
